Frigidaire PureSource Ultra II (EPTWFU01) vs PureSource Ultra (ULTRAWF): Which Do You Need?
Quick answer
They're different filters. Frigidaire's ULTRAWF (PureSource Ultra) slides in and pushes to lock, and the EPTWFU01 (PureSource Ultra II) pushes in and turns 90° to lock. [S1] [S2] Frigidaire says to use the same filter type that's already in your fridge. [S5]
- EPTWFU01 is rated for 125 gallons, ULTRAWF for 200 gallons. Frigidaire says to replace either every 6 months or sooner. [S3] [S4]
- Both data sheets say IAPMO R&T certified them against NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 401 and CSA B483.1. [S3] [S4]
- Waterdrop doesn't list a replacement for either filter on its US store (checked 2026-10-25).

Certified alternatives
We didn't find a Waterdrop replacement for either filter, and we haven't confirmed any third-party EPTWFU01 or ULTRAWF replacement in a certifier's database. Frigidaire says compatible or look-alike filters aren't guaranteed to give the same water quality. [S5]
How to tell which one you have
- Read the old filter. Frigidaire says to use the same filter type that's currently in your fridge. [S5]
- Notice how it came out. If you pushed it to release it, that matches the ULTRAWF's push-to-lock design. If you turned it, that matches the EPTWFU01's push-and-twist design. [S1] [S2]
- Still not sure? Frigidaire says most owner's manuals name the filter, and its "Find Your Water Filter" tool takes your model number. [S5]
After you change it
Run about 1.5 gallons through the dispenser, roughly 3 minutes, and throw that water away. [S1] [S2] Check your Use & Care Guide for how to reset the filter light on your model.

FAQ
Is EPTWFU01 the same as ULTRAWF?
No. Frigidaire sells them as separate filters with different installs (push and twist vs push to lock) and different ratings (125 vs 200 gallons). [S1] [S2] Frigidaire says to use the same filter type that's in your fridge now. [S5]

How often do I change EPTWFU01?
Frigidaire says every 6 months or 125 gallons, whichever comes first. [S1]
How often do I change ULTRAWF?
Every 6 months or 200 gallons, whichever comes first. [S2]
What we could not verify
- The ULTRAWF certifier. Frigidaire's product page says NSF International, but its data sheet says IAPMO R&T. We list the data sheet.
- The ULTRAWF flow rate. The product page says 0.5 gpm and the data sheet says 0.65 gpm maximum.
- Retailer claims about which years or model lines use each filter. Frigidaire's pages we read don't say, so we left them out.
- Fridge models. We haven't fetched a Frigidaire fits list or manual yet, so no Frigidaire models are added.
- IAPMO or NSF listing confirmation for either filter.
