When to change it
After about 6 months, the Filter indicator blinks red. This manual puts that at about 320 gallons (1,200 liters). [S2] Samsung's HAF-CIN page gives the filter's capacity as 300 gallons. [S1]
How to change it on the RF28K9070SR
- Shut off the water supply line and open the filter cover. [S2]
- Turn the cartridge knob counter-clockwise 90 degrees (a quarter turn) to unlock it, then pull it straight out. Empty and dry the water filter tray. [S2]
- Insert the new cartridge and turn the knob clockwise to lock it. [S2]
- Reset the filter light: press and hold Crushed Ice on the feature panel for 3 seconds. The filter indicator turns off. [S2]
- Open the water valve and run water through the dispenser for about 7 minutes to clear air and loose particles. The dispenser may spurt or drip for a short time. [S2]
